Hotel Paros Philoxenia (B class superior) is located right on New Golden Beach (Tsardakia), one of the most famous beach in Greece. Hotel Paros Philoxenia is situated between the three fishing villages Drios, Logaras and Piso Livadi, about 18 km from Parikia (the port), 16 km from the airport and 16 km from Naoussa (the second biggest town in Paros).

From our pool restaurant you can enjoy the fantastic view to the sea and the neighboring islands Naxos and Ios.
In our pool bar enjoy local wines (from Paros or all over Greece), a glass of Ouzo or any cocktail that fits to your mood.

Try our ‘Dakos’ (Cretan dry-bread with fresh tomatoes, Feta cheese, olives, olive oil and balsamic vinegar), ‘Philoxenia Plate’ (variety of Greek starters), ‘Saganaki’ (fried Greek cheese), ‘Melitzanes sto fourno’ (Aubergines in the oven with Feta cheese and fresh tomatoes), everything made from fresh and local ingredients.

:: Sport activities
New Golden Beach (Tsardakia), located at the Southeast part of Paros, is the windiest spot of the island, offering excellent windsurfing conditions. The wind direction - usually North, left side-shore - combined with an angled wave, creates ideal jumping conditions.

You can also find the Paros Surf Club right on our beach, diving (around the neighborhood), Horseback Riding (16 km) or a Water Park (18 km).

Additional to our windsurfing and scuba diving programs there are many more sport activities you might like to do during your stay in Paros.

Mountain biking: Mountain bikes can been rented and delivered to our hotel. Discover the island by bicycling around and see Paros with different eyes.

Trekking: You will find many trekking ways all around the island. For example, you can walk along the sea side or you take the ancient Byzantine way down from Lefkes to Prodromos.

::About Paros Island
Paros, the fourth biggest Cyclades island, covers an area of 184 square kilometres. Paros has one major town, Parikia, where the ferry port is situated, and a number of medium sized and smaller villages like Naoussa, Lefkes, Kostos, Archilochus, Marpissa and Angeria.

Local wines are renowned for their bouquet and quality, Parian wine being one of the most famous. The dry red Paros wine embodies high quality, and the red, rose and white wines from the Union of Agriculture Associations are well known for their value for money. The range of wines from Cavarnis is well appreciated by both the local population and tourists, for their excellent quality.

Paros is also famous for its olive oil, vinegar, barley, marble and has one of the biggest fishing centers in the Aegean sea.

 

By Plane: Direct flights from any major European city to Athens, Santorini or Mykonos and then with a ferry transfer to the island of Paros. Ferries from the Athens region either leave from the ports of Piraeus or Rafina, depending on your arrival time. The port of Rafina is situated approximately 15 minutes away from the Athens International Airport (Spata), whereas Piraeus is approximately 90 minutes away from the airport. There is a regular bus service from the airport to these two seaports.

Connecting domestic flights to Paros are available from the Athens International Airport (Spata). Flying time approximately 30 minutes.

By Passenger Ferry: Regular departures from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina.

By car: It will be necessary to take a car ferry boat from the following ports in Italy: Venice, Ancona or Brindisi to Patras (Greece ). From Patras you will travel to Piraeus (205 kms) to catch a corresponding ferry boat to Paros. The new high speed car ferry boats take approximately two and a half hours to reach Paros. The distance from the port of Paros (Parikia) to New Golden Beach is 20 kms.
